This copy of the census page from the 1930 census including the Jansen family was obtained from Ancestry.com, and does not appear to be altered in any way. According to ancestry It is a scanned image from the United States of America, Bureau of the Census. Fifteenth Census of the United States, 1930. Washington, D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1930. T626, 2,667 rolls.

The census lists the head of household as John Jansen, belived to be John Herman Jansen, living with five sons Alfred Jansen who is belived to be Alfred John Jansen, Anthony Jansen who is belived to be Anthony Harold Jansen, Edward Jansen who is belived to be Edward Hernan Jansen, John Jansen who is belived to be John Jerome Jansen, and Louis Jansen who is believed to be Louis Arthur Jansen. This is consistant with verbal family histories and other known documentation.

The Jansen family were reported to the enumerated they were renting their home paying $5 per month for rent, and John was occupied as a Carpenter.

This document states that John Jansen was born in Wisconsin while his father was born in Germany. This suggests John Jansen's father, believed to be Paul Jansen, moved to the Wisconsin from Germany sometime prior to 01 Apr 1877.

This document states that John Jansen was born in Wisconsin while four of his five sons living with him were born in Iowa. Given the April 1, 1930 censu date, this suggest John lived in Iowa sometime prior to 01 Apr 1916, and left Iowa sometime after 02 Apr 1924. It also suggest he moved to Illinois sometime between 02 Apr 1924 and 01 Apr 1925.
